gold dredging is highly illegal in b.c. so is sluicing in a creek or putting any sort of tailings or silt back into a creek. it is illegal to dig or disturb a creek up to 10 meters from high water mark on either side of the creek.. even when sluicing one must dump tailings into a settling pond away from creek. inspectors can use a turbidity meter upstream and down and if theres a tiniest extra ammount of extra silt downstream = big fine etc. people do dredge , but one risks losing all equipment, your vehicle etc. regards gerry @ prince george b.c.
